ਹਰੀਜਨ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੰਘ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਚ ਅਛੂਤਤਾ ਦੇ ਖਾਤਮੇ ਲਈ ਮਹਾਤਮਾ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ 1932 ਵਿਚ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਇਕ ਗੈਰ-ਮੁਨਾਫਾ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਹਰੀਜਨ ਜਾਂ ਦਲਿਤ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਹਾਸ਼ੀਆ 'ਤੇ ਧੱਕੀ ਹੋਈ ਜਮਾਤ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਹੈ। [1] ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਕਿੰਗਸਵੇ ਕੈਂਪ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਾਖਾਵਾਂ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਚ 26 ਰਾਜਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ।[2]

ਇਤਿਹਾਸ

ਦੂਸਰੀ ਰਾਉਂਡ ਟੇਬਲ ਕਾਨਫਰੰਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਬੀ.ਆਰ. ਅੰਬੇਦਕਰ ਦੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ 'ਤੇ ਦੁਖੀ ਵਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਕਮਿਊਨਲ ਅਵਾਰਡ ਦੇਣ 'ਤੇ ਸਹਿਮਤੀ ਜਤਾਈ। ਗਾਂਧੀ ਨੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਦਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਸਮਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਵੰਡ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਰਵਦਾ ਜੇਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਣਮਿੱਥੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਮਰਨ ਵਰਤ ‘ਤੇ ਚਲਾ ਗਏ। ਅੰਬੇਦਕਰ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਨਾ ਸਮਝੌਤੇ 'ਤੇ 24 ਸਤੰਬਰ 1932 ਨੂੰ ਦਸਤਖ਼ਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਵਰਤ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। 30 ਸਤੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਨੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿਚ ਛੂਤ-ਛਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਲ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਐਂਟੀ ਅਨਟਚਬੇਲਟੀ ਲੀਗ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਂ ਬਦਲ ਕੇ ਹਰੀਜਨ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੰਘ ("ਅਛੂਤ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ") ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ। [3] ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਦਯੋਗਪਤੀ ਘਨਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਦਾਸ ਬਿਰਲਾ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਮ੍ਰਿਤਲਾਲ ਟੱਕੜ ਇਸਦੇ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਸਨ। [4]

ਮੁੱਖ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ

ਸੰਘ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਕਿੰਗਸਵੇ ਕੈਂਪ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਲਮੀਕਿ ਭਵਨ ਸੀ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਕਮਰੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਆਸ਼ਰਮ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਕਸਤੂਰਬਾ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ 1946 ਤੋਂ ਜੂਨ 1947 ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਕਸਤੂਰਬਾ ਕੁਟੀਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਰਹੇ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਬਿਰਲਾ ਹਾਊਸ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ। ਅੱਜ 20 ਏਕੜ ਦੇ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਆਸ਼ਰਮ, ਹਰੀਜਨ ਬਸਤੀ, ਲਾਲਾ ਹੰਸ ਰਾਜ ਗੁਪਤਾ ਉਦਯੋਗਿਕ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੰਡਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੁੜੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਵੀ ਹੈ।[5] [6] ਇਸ ਦਾ ਹੈਡਕੁਆਟਰ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਆਸ਼ਰਮ, ਕਿੰਗਸਵੇ ਕੈਂਪ, ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਗਾਂਧੀਵਾਦੀ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਸਾਈਟ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੂਚੀਬੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। . ਗਾਂਧੀਵਾਦੀ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਸਾਈਟਾਂ | ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਮੰਤਰਾਲਾ, ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ

ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ

ਸੰਘ ਨੇ ਉਦਾਸ ਵਰਗ ਦੀ ਜਨਤਕ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੰਦਰਾਂ, ਸਕੂਲ, ਸੜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਸਰੋਤਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਅੰਤਰ-ਖਾਣ ਪੀਣ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਰ ਜਾਤੀ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾਏ। [7] ਇਹ ਸੰਘ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਰ ਵਿਚ ਕਈ ਸਕੂਲ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਸਟਲ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। [8]

1939 ਵਿਚ ਏ ਵੈਦਨਾਥ ਅਈਅਰ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੇ ਤਾਮਿਲਨਾਡੂ ਦਾ ਹਰੀਜਨ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੰਘ, ਮਦੁਰਾਈ ਦੇ ਮੀਨਾਕਸ਼ੀ ਅੱਮਾਨ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਇਆ, ਉੱਚ ਜਾਤੀ ਦੇ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਪੀ ਕੱਕਨ ਸਮੇਤ ਉਦਾਸ ਵਰਗ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਘ ਨੇ ਅਈਅਰ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਤਾਮਿਲਨਾਡੂ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਤ੍ਰਾਵਾਨਕੋਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਈ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। [9] [10] ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦੋਲਨਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ 100 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਮੰਦਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਰਗਾਂ ਲਈ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਿਆ ਗਿਆ। [11]
