ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਥਾਪਰ (15 ਮਈ 1907 - 23 ਮਾਰਚ 1931) ਇੱਕ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕ੍ਰਾਂਤੀਕਾਰੀ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨ ਸੋਸ਼ਲਿਸਟ ਰਿਪਬਲਿਕਨ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ ਮੈਬਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ 23 ਮਾਰਚ 1931 ਨੂੰ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ।[1]
ਜੀਵਨ
ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਥਾਪਰ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਜਾਂ ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਾਨ ਰਾਮਲਾਲ ਥਾਪਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਰੱਲੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਕਰਮੀ ਸੰਵਤ 1964 ਦੇ ਫੱਗਣ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੁਕਲ ਪੱਖ ਸਪਤਮੀ ਮੂਜਬ 15 ਮਈ 1907 ਨੂੰ ਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਪੌਣੇ ਗਿਆਰਾਂ ਵਜੇ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਤਾਇਆ ਅਚਿੰਤਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਪੋਸਣ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਦੀ ਤਾਈ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਲਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਕਾਮਰੇਡ ਰਾਮਚੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਭਗਵਤੀ ਚਰਨ ਵੋਹਰਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਭਾ ਦਾ ਗਠਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
ਲਾਲਾ ਲਾਜਪਤ ਰਾਏ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਜਦੋਂ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਬਣੀ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਂਡਰਸ ਦੀ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਗੁਰੁ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਾਥ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ, 1929 ਵਿੱਚ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਮਾਨਵੀ ਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਕ ਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਭੁੱਖ ਹੜਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਧ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਭਾਗ ਵੀ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਤ ਤਾਰੀਖ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਮੈਨੁਅਲ ਦੇ ਨਿਯਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਕਿਨਾਰ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ 23 ਮਾਰਚ 1931 ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮੀਂ 7 ਵਜੇ ਸੁਖਦੇਵ, ਰਾਜਗੁਰੁ ਅਤੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਸੇਂਟਰਲ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਟਕਾ ਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਤੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਕੋਨੇ ਕੋਨੇ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਸ ਜਾਗਿਆ ਸੀ।[2] ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਗੁਰੁ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਵੀ ਸਿਰਫ ੨੪ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
