}}}} ਰਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦ ਬਿਸਮਿਲ (11 ਜੂਨ 1897[1] - 19 ਦਸੰਬਰ 1927[2]) ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਇਨਕਲਾਬੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਹਰੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਸੰਗਰਾਮੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਇਰ, ਅਨੁਵਾਦਕ, ਬਹੁਭਾਸ਼ਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਇਤਹਾਸਕਾਰ ਸਨ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਹੂਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ।[3] ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰਵਾਰ ਜੇਠ ਸ਼ੁਕਲ ਇਕਾਦਸ਼ੀ (ਨਿਰਜਲਾ ਇਕਾਦਸ਼ੀ) ਵਿਕਰਮੀ ਸੰਵਤ 1954 ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਹਜਹਾਂਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੰਮੇ ਰਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ 30 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਮਵਾਰ ਪੋਹ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਣ ਇਕਾਦਸ਼ੀ (ਸਫਲਾ ਇਕਾਦਸ਼ੀ) ਵਿਕਰਮੀ ਸੰਵਤ 1984 ਨੂੰ ਬਰਤਾਨਵੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਗੋਰਖਪੁਰ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਬਿਸਮਿਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਰਦੂ ਤਖੱਲੁਸ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਰਥ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਆਤਮਕ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਆਹਤ। ਬਿਸਮਿਲ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਉਹ ਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਿਆਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਲੇਖ ਅਤੇ ਕਵਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਲਿਖਦੇ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੰਨ 1916 ਵਿੱਚ 19 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਨਕਲਾਬੀ ਰਸਤੇ ’ਤੇ ਕਦਮ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ 30 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਏ। ਗਿਆਰਾਂ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਇਨਕਲਾਬੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਗਿਆਰਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਵੀ ਹੋਈਆਂ। ਬਰਤਾਨਵੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਬਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।

ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਿਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੀ।[4] ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਲਿਖਦੇ ਹਨ: “ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮਪ੍ਰਸਾਦ ਬਿਸਮਿਲ ਵੱਡੇ ਹੋਣਹਾਰ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਸਨ। ਗਜਬ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਇਰ ਸਨ। ਦੇਖਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸਨ। ਲਾਇਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਨ। ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਮੇਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਸੈਨਾਪਤੀ ਬਣਦੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੇ ਛੜਯੰਤਰ ਦਾ ਨੇਤਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਚਾਹੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਪੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਏ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ ਲੇਕਿਨ ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਪੰਡਤ ਜਗਤ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਵਰਗੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਵਕੀਲ ਦੀ ਸੁੱਧ-ਬੁੱਧ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਚੀਫ਼ ਕੋਰਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਲਿਖੀ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਿ ਮੁਨਸਫ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਪਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਲਿਖਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਹੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਸੂਝਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਇਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਹੈ।”[5]
