ਫਰਮਾ:Infobox monarch ਰਾਜਾਰਾਜ ਚੋਲ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਚੋਲ ਰਾਜਵੰਸ਼ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਨੇ 985 ਤੋਂ 1014 ਤੱਕ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਚੋਲ ਰਾਜਵੰਸ਼ ਦਾ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਵੀ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਹੋਇਆ[1][2] ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਦੱਖਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਲੰਕਾ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਲਿੰਗ ਤੱਕ ਸੀ। ਇਸਨੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰੀ ਕੂਚਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਮਾਲਾਬਾਰ ਤਟ, ਮਾਲਦੀਵ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਲੰਕਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ।[1][2]
ਰਾਜਾਰਾਜ ਨੇ ਥੰਜਾਵੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬ੍ਰਿਹਾਦੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਮੰਦਰ ਬਣਵਾਇਆ ਜੋ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਮੰਦਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ।[3] ਇਸਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਤਮਿਲ ਕਵੀਆਂ ਅਪਾਰ, ਸੰਬੰਧ ਸਵਾਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਨਇਨਕਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਇਕੱਠਿਆਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਤਿਰੂਮੁਰਾਈ ਨਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਸੰਪਾਦਿਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ।[2][4] ਸੰਨ 1000 ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਨੇ ਭੂਮੀ ਸਰਵੇ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜ ਨੂੰ "ਵਾਲਨਦੁਸ" ਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਗਤ ਇਕਾਈਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡਿਆ।[5][6] 1014 ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਸਦਾ ਪੁੱਤ ਰਾਜੇਂਦਰ ਚੋਲ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਗੱਦੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੈਠਿਆ।
