ਜੈਪੁਰ, ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸੂਬੇ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ 18 ਨਵੰਬਰ 1727 ਨੂੰ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਸਵਾਈ ਜੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੂਜਾ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਅੰਬੇਰ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਾਸਕ ਸੀ, ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੋਈ ਜਿਸ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੀ ਅਜੋਕੀ ਅਬਾਦੀ ਲਗਭਗ 31 ਲੱਖ ਹੈ। ਇਸਨੂੰ ਗੁਲਾਬੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਪੈਰਿਸ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੈਪੁਰ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨ ਦਾ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਸੈਰ ਸ਼ਫ਼ਰ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੈਪੁਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਦਾ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲਾਂ, ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਟ ਗੈਲਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖੀਆਂ ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਮ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਹਿਜ ਹੀ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ਾ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਤਿਹਾਸ
ਜੈਪੁਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ 18 ਨਵੰਬਰ 1727 ਨੂੰ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਸਵਾਈ ਜੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੂਜਾ ਨੇ ਵਸਾਇਆ। ਆਮੇਰ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ 1688 ਤੋਂ 1743 ਤੱਕ ਰਾਜਾ ਜੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੂਜਾ ਦੀ ਹਕੂਮਤ ਅਧੀਨ ਰਿਹਾ। ਜੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੂਜਾ ਨੇ ਵੱਦਧੀ ਹੋਈ ਆਬਾਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ[1] ਦੀ ਘਾਟ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਖਦੀਆ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਦਾਓਸਾ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕੀ ਜੈਪੁਰ ਤੋਂ 51 ਕਿਲੋ ਮੀਟਰ ਦੂਰ ਸੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਣ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਬਣਾਈ। ਜੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੈਪੁਰ ਦਾ ਨਕਸ਼ਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸ਼ਿਲਪਕਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਲਪਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀਆ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਤੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਵਟਾਂਦਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਜੈਪੁਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਿਲਪਕਾਰੀ ਵਾਸਤੁ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਲਪ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਧਾਰਿਤ ਹੈ। ਜੈਪੁਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ 1727 ਈ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ। ਮੁੱਖ ਰਸਤਿਆਂ, ਦਫਤਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ 4 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਹੋਇਆ। ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਰ ਬਲਾਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਬਲਾਕ ਰਾਜ ਇਮਾਰਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਸੇਵੇ ਲਈ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਪੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਸੱਤ ਦਰਵਾਜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਲੇਬੰਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।[1]
ਮੌਸਮ
ਜੈਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਧ ਖੁਸ਼ਕ ਮੌਸਮ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕੋੱਪੇਨ ਕਲਾਇਮੇਟ ਕਲੱਸੀਫ਼ਿਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਮਾਨ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜੂਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਤੰਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਨੁਮਾਨਿਤ ਬਾਰਿਸ਼ 650 ਮਿਲੀ ਮੀਟਰ (26 ਇੰਚ) ਮਾਪੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰਾ ਸਾਲ ਤਾਪਮਾਨ ਇਕੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਗਰਮ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ ਅਤੇ ਜੁਲਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਰਮ ਰੁਤ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਦਿਨ ਦਾ ਤਾਪਮਾਨ 30 °C (86 °F) ਦੇ ਲਗਭਗ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨਸੂਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਭਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਫਾਨੀ ਬਾਰਿਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਹੜ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਇਕੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ। ਸਰਦ ਰੁਤ ਦਾ ਮੌਸਮ ਸੋਹਣਾ, ਖੁਸ਼ਨੁਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਰੁਮਾਂਚਕ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਵੰਬਰ ਤੋਂ ਫਰਬਰੀ ਤੱਕ ਤਾਪਮਾਨ 15–18 °C (59–64 °F) ਦੇ ਲਗਭਗ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਮੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਘੱਟ ਅਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਕਦੇ ਠੰਡੀਆਂ ਤਰੰਗਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਤਾਪਮਾਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਜਾਇਦਾ ਠੰਡਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਜੈਪੁਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਸੈਰ ਸਫਰ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੋਲਡਨ ਟ੍ਰਾਈਏਂਗਲ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ। 2008 ਦੇ ਕੋੰਡੇ ਨਾਸਟ ਟ੍ਰਾਵਲਿੰਗ ਰੀਡਰਸ ਚੋਇਸ ਸਰਵੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜੈਪੁਰ ਏਸਿਆ ਦੀਆ ਸੱਤ ਮੁੱਖ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ। 2015 ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਪ ਅਡਵਾਇਜਰਸ ਚੋਇਸ ਅਵਾਰਡ ਵਲੋਂ ਜੈਪੁਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀਆ ਸੈਰ ਸਪਾਟੇ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦਰਜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਯਾਤਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਹਵਾ ਮਹਿਲ, ਜਲ ਮਹਿਲ, ਸਿਟੀ ਪੈਲੇਸ, ਜੈਪੁਰ, ਆਮੇਰ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ, ਜੰਤਰ ਮੰਤਰ, ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਜੈਗਡ਼੍ਹ, ਅਲਬਰਟ ਹਾਲ ਮਿਊਜ਼ੀਅਮ, ਨਾਹਰਗੜ੍ਹ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ, ਗੱਤਾਜੀ, ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਮੰਦਿਰ, ਗੜ ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਮੰਦਿਰ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਕਾਲੀ ਮੰਦਿਰ, ਬਿਰਲਾ ਮੰਦਿਰ, ਸੰਗਨੇਰੀ ਗੇਟ, ਅਤੇ ਜੈਪੁਰ ਚਿੜੀਆਂ ਘਰ। ਜੰਤਰ ਮੰਤਰ ਇੱਕ ਵਰਲਡ ਹੈਰੀਟੇਜ ਸਾਇਟ ਹੈ। ਹਵਾ ਮਹਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜ ਮੰਜਲੀ ਪਿਰਾਮਂਡ ਬਣਤਰ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਹਨ। ਜਿਸਦੀ ਉਂਚਾਈ 15 ਮੀਟਰ (50 ਫੁੱਟ) ਹੈ। ਸੀਸੋਡਿਆ ਰਾਨੀ ਬਾਗ਼ ਅਤੇ ਕਣਕ ਵ੍ਰਿੰਦਵਾਨ ਜੈਪੁਰ ਦੀਆ ਮੁੱਖ ਪਾਰਕਾਂ ਹਨ।

ਜੈਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਵਾਈ ਮਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਸਟੇਡਿਅਮ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ 23,185 ਦਰਸ਼ਕ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਖੇਡ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਨ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਸਟੇਡਿਅਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸਟਰੀਏ ਮੈਚ ਖੇਡੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।[4] ਸਵਾਈ ਮਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਇੰਡੂਰ ਸਟੇਡਿਅਮ, ਚੌਗਾਨ ਸਟੇਡਿਅਮ, ਰੇਲਵੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਗ੍ਰਾਉਂਡ ਵੀ ਜੈਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਖੇਡ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਹਨ। ਇੰਡੀਅਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਮੀਅਰ ਲੀਗ[5] ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜਸਥਨ ਰੋਇਲ਼ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਅਤੇ 2014 ਪਰੋ ਕਬੱਡੀ ਲੀਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੈਪੁਰ ਪੀਂਕ ਪੈਂਥਰ ਜੈਪੁਰ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹਨ।[6]

ਜੈਪੁਰ ਦੀਆ ਮੁੱਖ ਖਾਣੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਲ ਬਾਟੀ ਚੂਰਮਾ, ਮਿੱਸੀ ਰੋਟੀ, ਗੱਟੇ ਕੀ ਸਬਜ਼ੀ, ਕਰ ਸੰਗਰੀ, ਬਾਜਰੇ ਕੀ ਰੋਟੀ[7], ਮਿੱਠੇ ਖਾਣੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਘੇਵਰ, ਫੈਨੀ, ਮਾਵਾਂ ਕਚੋਰੀ, ਗਚਕ, ਚੌਗੁਣੀ ਕੇ ਲੱਡੋ, ਮੂੰਗ ਥਾਲ।[8][9]
