}}}} ਜਤਿੰਦਰ ਨਾਥ ਦਾਸ (27ਅਕਤੂਬਰ,1904 – 13ਸਤੰਬਰ,1929) ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿ ਜਤਿਨ ਦਾਸ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ, ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਘੁਲਾਟੀਆ ‘ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨ ਸਮਾਜਵਾਦੀ ਪਰਜਾਤੰਤਰ ਸੰਘ’ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਕੁੰਨ ਸੀ। 14ਜੂਨ,1929 ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰੀ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਇਨਕਲਾਬੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਕੈਦੀਆਂ ਵਾਲ਼ਾ ਸਲੂਕ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ, ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਲਈ ਅਖ਼ਬਾਰ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਤੇ ਲਿਖਣ ਲਈ ਕਾਗਜ਼/ਕਲਮ ਅਤੇ ਭੋਜਨ, ਕੱਪੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੇਲ ਦੀ ਸਫਾਈ ਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਮੰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਭੁੱਖ ਹੜਤਾਲ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਅੰਗ੍ਰੇਜ਼ਾਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਲੜਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਲਹੌਰ ਜੇਲ ਵਿੱਚ 63 ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੁਖ ਹੜਤਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿਤੇ। ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੋਸ ਫੈਲ ਗਿਆ। ਜਿਸ ‘ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨ ਸਮਾਜਵਾਦੀ ਪਰਜਾਤੰਤਰ ਸੰਘ’ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ (ਅਗਸਤ 1928) ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਕੁੰਨ ਪੁੱਜਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਸੇ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀ ਦੇ ਜਤਿਨ ਦਾਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਹੋਣ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਭਾਬੀ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਰਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਢਾ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਜੂਮ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੰਗਾਂ ਮੰਨਣੀਆਂ ਪਈਆਂ। ਗੁਲਾਮੀ, ਬੇਇਨਸਾਫ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਉਸ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਜੂਝਦਿਆਂ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਹੋਣ ਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਦੀ ਬਿਹਤਰੀ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲ਼ੇ ਜਤਿਨ ਦਾਸ ਵਰਗੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਹੀ ਅੱਜ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਸਲ ਨਾਇਕ ਹਨ।
