ਓਮ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਮੁੰਜਾਲ (26 ਅਗਸਤ 1928 – 13 ਅਗਸਤ 2015) ਇੱਕ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਵਪਾਰੀ, ਕਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਸੇਵਕ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਹੀਰੋ ਸਾਈਕਲਜ਼, ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਇਨਟੈਗਰੇਟਿਡ ਸਾਈਕਲ ਉਤਪਾਦਨ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੀਰੋ ਮੋਟਰਜ਼, ਇੱਕ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਦੋ-ਪਹੀਆ ਪੁਰਜੇ ਨਿਰਮਾਤਾ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਦਾ ਸਹਿ-ਬਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਠਾਠ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋਟਲ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਰ-ਪਹੀਆ ਪੁਰਜੇ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸਕੂਲ, ਅਤੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਚੱਲਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।[1] ਡੀਐਮਸੀ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਹੀਰੋ ਹਾਰਟ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਵਿੱਚ 13 ਅਗਸਤ 2015 ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ।[2]
ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ
ਓਮ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਮੁੰਜਾਲ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਚੰਦ ਮੁੰਜਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
1944 ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਸਹਿਤ, ਬ੍ਰਿਜਮੋਹਨ ਸੋਵਿਰਨ ਮੁੰਜਾਲ, ਦਯਾਨੰਦ ਮੁੰਜਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਤਿਆਨੰਦ ਮੁੰਜਾਲ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਈਕਲ ਸਪੇਅਰ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਚਲੇ ਗਿਆ। ਪਰ ਕੁਝ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ-ਅੰਦਰ, ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਵੰਡ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਬੁਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਹੋਇਆ। ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਓਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਅਧਾਰ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ। 1956 ਵਿੱਚ, ਪੁਰਜਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਉਹ ਹੀਰੋ ਮਾਅਰਕਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਾਈਕਲ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਲਈ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਾਈਕਲ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਚਾਲੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ 639 ਸਾਈਕਲ ਬਣਾਏ।[3]
