ਨੌਰਾ ਰਿਚਰਡ (29 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 1876— - 3 ਮਾਰਚ 1971) ਆਇਰਲੈਂਡ ਦੀ ਜਨਮੀ ਅਭਿਨੇਤਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਟ-ਕਰਮੀ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਲੇਡੀ ਗਰੇਗਰੀ ਕਹਿਲਾਈ। ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦੇ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਨਾਟਕਕਾਰ ਬਲਵੰਤ ਗਾਰਗੀ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੰੰਜਾਬੀ ਨਾਟਕ ਦੀ ਨਕੜਦਾਦੀ ਕਿਹਾ, ਜਿਸਨੇ 60 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ (1911–1971ਈ.) ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਰੰਗ-ਮੰਚ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਫੁੱੱਲਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾਇਆ।[1] ਉਹ 1911 ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾਹੌਰ (ਬਰਤਾਨਵੀ ਭਾਰਤ) ਵਿੱਚ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਈ। 1914 ਵਿੱਚ ਈਸ਼ਵਰ ਚੰਦਰ ਨੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਲਿਖੇ ਨਾਟਕ 'ਦੁਲਹਨ' ਦਾ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਮਾਤਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਮੰਚਨ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ।[2] ਨੌਰਾ ਰਿਚਰਡ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਤਰੀ ਨਾਟਕ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਢ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾਇਆ।

1970, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ, ਖਾਸਕਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਨਾਟਕ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਫੁੱੱਲਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਲਈ ਨੌਰਾ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਡੀ. ਲਿੱਟ. ਦੀ ਡਿਗਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਵਾਜਿਆ।[1]

ਕੈਰੀਅਰ

ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਛੋਟੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੌਰਾ ਨੇ ਥੀਏਟਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਫਲ ਅਦਾਕਾਰਾ ਬਣ ਗਈ। ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਯੂਨੀਟੇਰੀਅਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਚੀਅਨ, ਫ਼ਿਲਿਪੁੱਸ ਅਰਨੈਸਟ ਰਿਚਰਡਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਤੀ ਦਿਆਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਾਲਜ (ਸਰਦਾਰ ਦਿਆਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ, ਕਾਲਜ ਦਾ ਬਾਨੀ, ਬ੍ਰਹਮੋ ਸਮਾਜ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੈਰੋਕਾਰ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਯੂਨੀਟੇਰੀਅਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਚੀਅਨ ਨਾਲ ਗੂੜ੍ਹਾ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਸੀ) ਲਾਹੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਵਜੋਂ 1908 ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ।
