ਅਜਾਇਬਘਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਸਭਾ (ICOM) ਅਜਾਇਬਘਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਕੋ-ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਬੱਧ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ 1946 ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। 137 ਮੁਲਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਲਗਭਗ 30,000 ਮੈਂਬਰ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਜਾਇਬਘਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਹਨ।
ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ
1946 ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣਾਈ ਗਈ ਇਹ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਇੱਕ ਗ਼ੈਰ-ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਯੂਨੈਸਕੋ ਨਾਲ ਰਸਮੀ ਸਬੰਧ ਹਨ।[1][2]
ਇਸ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਬੌਧਿਕ ਮਲਕੀਅਤ ਸੰਸਥਾ[3], ਇੰਟਰਪੋਲ[4] ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕਸਟਮਜ਼ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਸਬੰਧ ਹਨ।
ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਅਜਾਇਬਘਰ ਦਿਹਾੜਾ
1977 ਤੋਂ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ 18 ਮਈ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਅਜਾਇਬਘਰ ਦਿਹਾੜਾ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।[5] ਇਸ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਦਾ ਮਕਸਦ ਵਿਕਾਸਸ਼ੀਲ ਸਮਾਜਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜਾਇਬਘਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਘਾੜਨਾ ਹੈ।
