ਸਾਊਥ ਏਸ਼ੀਅਨ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ

ਸਾਊਥ ਏਸ਼ੀਅਨ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ (ਅੰਗ੍ਰੇਜ਼ੀ: South Asian University) ਦੱਖਣੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਅਨ ਖੇਤਰੀ ਸਹਿਕਾਰਤਾ ਸੰਘ (ਸਾਰਕ) ਦੇ ਅੱਠ ਮੈਂਬਰੀ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਪਾਂਸਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਇੱਕ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਹੈ।^[1] ਇਹ ਅੱਠ ਦੇਸ਼ ਹਨ - ਅਫਗਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ, ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼, ਭੂਟਾਨ, ਭਾਰਤ, ਮਾਲਦੀਵ, ਨੇਪਾਲ, ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀਲੰਕਾ। ਦੱਖਣੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਅਨ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਨੇ ਸਾਲ 2010 ਵਿਚ, ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਅਕਬਰ ਭਵਨ ਵਿਖੇ ਇਕ ਅਸਥਾਈ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਖਲਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਸਥਾਈ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਇੰਦਰਾ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਓਪਨ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ (ਇਗਨੂ) ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ, ਦੱਖਣੀ ਦਿੱਲੀ, ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਗੜ੍ਹੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।^[2] ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਵਿੱਦਿਅਕ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਅਗਸਤ 2010 ਵਿੱਚ ਆਰਥਿਕਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿੱਚ, ਦੋ ਪੋਸਟ-ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। {{#if: | {{{alt}}} |{{#if: | {{#if:

ਦੱਖਣੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਅਨ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਅੱਠ ਸਾਰਕ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਖ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਆਕਰਸ਼ਤ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਦੂਜੇ ਮਹਾਂਦੀਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਖਲੇ ਲਈ ਇਕ ਦੇਸ਼ ਕੋਟਾ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਸਾਲ SAU ਸਾਰੇ 8 ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਲਟੀਪਲ ਸੈਂਟਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਦਾਖਲਾ ਟੈਸਟ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜੀ.ਕੇ.ਚੱਢਾ ਦੀ 1 ਮਾਰਚ 2014 ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਸਾਊਥ ਏਸ਼ੀਅਨ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸੀਈਓ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਐਸਯੂਯੂ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਪੜਾਅ 'ਤੇ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿਚ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ, ਉਹ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰ ਸਨ। ਜਵਾਹਰ ਲਾਲ ਨਹਿਰੂ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਉਪ ਕੁਲਪਤੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਜਕਾਲ ਰਿਹਾ।^[4] 3 ਨਵੰਬਰ 2014 ਨੂੰ, ਡਾ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ^[5] ਨੇ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਅਹੁਦਾ ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆ।

ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਉਦੇਸ਼

ਦੱਖਣੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਅਨ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਤਵਾ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਸਾਰਕ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮਝੌਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਤਹਿਤ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਧਾਰਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਇਸ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਧਿਐਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ:

ਦੱਖਣੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਆਈ ਕਮਿਊਨਿਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਣਾ ਜੋ ਇਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਰੀਏ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਵਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਤਰੀ ਚੇਤਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਜਬੂਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ;
ਦੱਖਣੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਦੇ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਦਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਗੁਣਵੱਤਾ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਨਵੀਂ ਜਮਾਤ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਪੋਸ਼ਣ ਹੋਵੇ; ਅਤੇ

ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ

ਇੱਕ ਖੋਜ-ਕੇਂਦ੍ਰਿਤ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ, SAU ਵਰਤਮਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੋਜ ਅਤੇ ਪੋਸਟ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਹੇਠ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੂਰਨ-ਸਮੇਂ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਸਟਰਜ਼ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ:

ਅੰਡਰਗ੍ਰੈਜੁਏਟ ਸਟੱਡੀਜ਼ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ, ਜਿਸਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਇੱਕ ਡੀਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਅਗਲੇ ਪੜਾਅ ਲਈ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਬਣਾਈ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਮਾਨਵਤਾ, ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ 4 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਬੀਏ / ਬੀਐਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕਰੇਗਾ।

ਖੋਜ ਕਾਰਜਨੀਤੀ

ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਸਕੂਲ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਡਰ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਕਾਲਜ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, SAU ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਖੋਜ ਵਿਦਵਾਨਾਂ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਖੋਜ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰਕ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਹਿੱਤ ਵਾਲੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੋਜ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅੰਤਰ-ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨੀ ਖੋਜ ਕੇਂਦਰਾਂ (ਆਈ.ਆਰ.ਸੀ.) ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਊਥ ਏਸ਼ੀਅਨ ਸਟੱਡੀਜ਼ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਇੰਸਟੀਚਿਊਟ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਫਲੈਗਸ਼ਿਪ ਰਿਸਰਚ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਜੋਂ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਬਣਾਈ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਲੋਗੋ

ਸਾਊਥ ਏਸ਼ੀਅਨ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦਾ ਲੋਗੋ ਸਾਰਕ ਦੇ ਅੱਠ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਲੋਗੋ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਢਲਾ ਰੂਪ ਅਸ਼ਟਗੋਨਿਕ ਹੈ, ਹਰ ਪਾਸਿਓ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅੱਠਭੂਜ, ਜਦੋਂ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਇਨ ਦੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀਕੋਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਸੰਖਿਆਤਮਕ "8" ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਜ਼ੂਅਲ ਅਰਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਨੰਤ (∞) ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੰਖਿਆਤਮਕ "8" ਜਾਂ ਅਨੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਫਿਰ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਕਸਤ ਰੂਪਾਂਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਢੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਆਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ।

ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜੀ.ਕੇ. ਚੱਢਾ ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਆਈ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਸਟਾਫ ਦੀ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਖੋਜ ਲੋੜ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਮੁੱਖ ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ ਕੁੱਲ 4500 ਵਰਗ ਫੁੱਟ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਫੈਲੀ ਹੈ। ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ ਸੋਮਵਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਐਤਵਾਰ ਸਵੇਰੇ 9 ਵਜੇ ਤੋਂ 12:00 ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਚੱਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਅਤਿਰਿਕਤ ਰੀਡਿੰਗ ਰੂਮ ਮੇਜਾਨਾਈਨ ਫਲੋਰ ਤੇ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ 8 ਵੀਂ ਮੰਜ਼ਿਲ ਚੌਵੀ ਘੰਟੇ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹਦੇ ਹਨ। ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ, ਰਸਾਲਿਆਂ, ਸੀਡੀ / ਡੀਵੀਡੀ, ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਆਦਿ ਦਾ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਵੱਖੋ ਵੱਖਰੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਵਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੇ ਲਗਭਗ 14000 ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ, 400 ਈ-ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ, 76000e-ਜਰਨਲਜ਼, 11 ਪ੍ਰਿੰਟ ਜਰਨਲਜ਼, 16 ਡਾਟਾਬੇਸ, 21 ਸੀਡੀ / ਡੀਵੀਡੀਜ਼, ਅਖਬਾਰਾਂ, ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਐਨਸਾਈਕਲੋਪੀਡੀਆ ਹਨ। ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ ਸੰਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਸਕਵਰੀ ਸਰਵਿਸ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਈਐਲਐਸ ਵਜੋਂ ਵਰਤ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਇਲੈਕਟ੍ਰੌਨਿਕ ਸਰੋਤ EZproxy ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਵੀ ਉਪਭੋਗਤਾਵਾਂ ਲਈ ਪਹੁੰਚਯੋਗ ਹਨ। ਟੀ.ਏ. ਦੇ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਾਂਟਸ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਆਫ਼ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਦੇ ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ ਦੀ ਈ-ਸਰੋਤ ਤਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ ਭਾਵ ਆਕਸਫੋਰਡ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ, ਸਪ੍ਰਿੰਜਰ, ਟੇਲਰ ਐਂਡ ਫ੍ਰਾਂਸਿਸ, ਮੈਥਸਕੀਨੇਟ, ਆਈਐਸਆਈਡੀ, ਵਰਲਡ ਈ ਬੁੱਕ ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ, ਸਾਊਥ ਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਆਰਕਾਈਵ ਅਤੇ ਜੇ-ਗੇਟ। ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ-ਰੀਡਰ ਅਖਬਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਰਸਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਡੇਟਾਬੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਦੱਖਣੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਅਨ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਡਿਗਰੀਆਂ ਸਾਰਕ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹਨ, ਇਕ ਸਮਝੌਤੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ^[6] ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਸਮੇਂ 8 ਸਾਰਕ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਮੰਤਰੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦਸਤਖਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
