}}}} ਹਕੀਮ ਅਜਮਲ ਖ਼ਾਨ (1868 - 1927) ਇੱਕ ਯੂਨਾਨੀ ਹਕੀਮ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਵਾਦੀ ਰਾਜਨੇਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਸੰਗਰਾਮੀਏ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀਹਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਿਬੀਆ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੂਨਾਨੀ ਚਿਕਿਤਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਇੱਕ ਰਸਾਇਣ ਵਿਗਿਆਨੀ ਡਾ. ਸਲੀਮੁੱਜਮਨ ਸਿੱਦੀਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਸਿਹਰਾ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਯੂਨਾਨੀ ਚਿਕਿਤਸਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਰਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਚਿਕਿਤਸੀ ਪੌਦਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਕਾਢਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।[1][2][3] ਉਹ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਸਾਥੀ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਅੰਦੋਲਨ (ਸੱਤਿਆਗ੍ਰਿਹ) ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਖਿਲਾਫਤ ਅੰਦੋਲਨ ਦਾ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਵੀ ਚੁਣੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ 1921 ਵਿੱਚ ਅਹਿਮਦਾਬਾਦ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਅਜਲਾਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।[4]
ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ
ਹਕੀਮ ਅਜਮਲ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 1863 ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਅਜਮਲ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਵਜ, ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਚਿਕਿਤਸਕ ਸਨ, ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਗ਼ਲ ਸਾਮਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ ਬਾਬਰ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਨਕਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਆਏ ਸਨ। ਹਕੀਮ ਅਜਮਲ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਯੂਨਾਨੀ ਹਕੀਮ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਮੁਗ਼ਲ ਸ਼ਾਸਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਚਿਕਿਤਸਾ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਸ਼ੈਲੀ ਦਾ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਜਮਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਰਈਸ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਦਾ ਹਕੀਮ ਸ਼ਰੀਫ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਮੁਗ਼ਲ ਸ਼ਾਸਕ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਆਲਮ ਦੇ ਚਿਕਿਤਸਕ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਫ ਮੰਜਿਲ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਂਵਿਦਿਆਲਾ ਸੀ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਯੂਨਾਨੀ ਚਿਕਿਤਸਾ ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ।[5][6]
