ਪੰਡਿਤ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਰਾਮ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰਾਂਤੀਕਾਰੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਸਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 13 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 1883 ਨੂੰ ਪਿੰਡ ਮੜੌਲੀ ਕਲਾਂ (ਨੇੜੇ ਮੋਰਿੰਡਾ) ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਗੰਗਾ ਰਾਮ ਜੋਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਮਹਿਤਾਬ ਕੌਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਹੋਇਆ।[2] ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਲਾਲਾ ਹਰਦਿਆਲ, ਬਾਬਾ ਸੋਹਣ ਸਿੰਘ ਭਕਨਾ, ਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ “ਹਿੰਦੀ ਪੈਸੇਫਿਕ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ” ਨਾਅ ਦੀ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਨੇ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਤੇ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਇਮ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਕਈ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਕੇ 21 ਅਪਰੈਲ 1913 ਨੂੰ ਗਦਰ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਬਾਬਾ ਸੋਹਣ ਸਿੰਘ ਭਕਨਾ, ਜਨਰਲ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਲਾਲਾ ਹਰਦਿਆਲ ਤੇ ਖਜ਼ਾਨਚੀ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਰਾਮ ਮੰਡੋਲੀ ਚੁਣੇ ਗਏ।[3]
