ਇਤਿਹਾਸ

ਜਸਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਓਬੀਈ ਸੰਸਦ ਵਿੱਚ 2018 ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਟੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਪੋਲੀਟੀਕਲ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ

ਸਿਟੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 2010 ਨੂੰ ਲੰਡਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਖ ਪੇਸ਼ੇਵਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਮੂਹ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ।[2] ਸੰਗਠਨ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸਿਟੀ ਸਿਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ, ਪਰਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਧਰੁਵ ਪਟੇਲ ਓਬੀਈ ਨਾਲ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਇੱਕ ਲੀਡਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਟ੍ਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਿਟੀ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਨੈਟਵਰਕ ਦੇ ਬਾਨੀ, ਦੋਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ।[3] 2018 ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਗਠਨ ਦੇ 7,000 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਰਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਸੀ।[4]

  • 15 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ 2019: ਸਿਟੀ ਸਿੱਖਸ, ਸਿਟੀ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਨੈਟਵਰਕ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਸਲਿਮ ਵਕੀਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਸਾਂਝੇਦਾਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਲੰਡਨ ਲਈ ਗ੍ਰੈਂਡ ਟਰੰਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਅਤੇ ਫੇਥਜ਼ ਫੋਰਮ ਨੇ ਜਲ੍ਹਿਆਂਵਾਲਾ ਬਾਗ ਕਤਲੇਆਮ ਤੋਂ 100 ਸਾਲ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਸੰਸਦ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਕੀਤਾ।[20]
  • 22 ਜੁਲਾਈ 2019: ਲੰਡਨ ਲਈ ਫੈਥਜ਼ ਫੋਰਮ ਨੇ ਸਿਟੀ ਸਿਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਈਵਾਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਆਈ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਮਹੀਨੇ [21]
  • 29 ਜੁਲਾਈ 2019: ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਹਾਈ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਭਾਈਵਾਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਤੇ ਫਲਸਫੇ 'ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਵਿਆਪੀ 550 ਵੇਂ ਜਨਮ ਦਿਵਸ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਫੋਟੋ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਲਗਾਈ। [22]

ਸਿਟੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਸਟਰ ਜਾਰਜ ਡੇਅ ਐਲਾਨਨਾਮਾ [23] ਅਤੇ ਸੀ.ਏ.ਏ.ਐਸ.ਈ. ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਅੰਤਰ-ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਕਦਮੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। [24] ਸਿਟੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਸਿੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਵਾਰੀਅਰ ਸੇਂਟਸ ਕਿਤਾਬ, [25] ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਸਿੱਖ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ, [26] ਅਤੇ ਖੰਡਾ ਪੋਪੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ[27] ਆਦਿ।

ਸਿਟੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਟੀਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਰੇਡੀਓ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਜਾਂ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਏਸ਼ੀਆਈ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਈਂ ਵਾਰ ਛਾਪੇ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਬੀਬੀਸੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਅਨ ਨੈਟਵਰਕ ਅਤੇ ਬੀਬੀਸੀ 1 ਦੇ ਦਿ ਬਿਗ ਕ੍ਵਾਸ਼ਨ ਬਾਕਾਇਦਾ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।

ਅਵਾਰਡ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ

ਸਿਟੀ ਸਿੱਖਜ਼ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਤਰ-ਧਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਕ ਕੰਮ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਵਾਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ:

  • ਸਾਲ 2017 ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ, ਜਸਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਯੂਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਏਕਤਾ ਲਈ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਓ.ਬੀ.ਈ. [28] ਇਹ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਘੱਟ ਉਮਰ ਦਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ।
  • ਸਾਲ 2018 ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ, ਓਂਕਾਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ ਟਰੱਸਟੀ ਹੈ, ਨੇ ਯੂਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਐਮ ਬੀ ਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ. [29] ਉਹ ਇਹ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਆਈ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਘੱਟ ਉਮਰ ਦਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ. [30]
  • ਨਵੰਬਰ 2018 ਵਿੱਚ, ਟਰੱਸਟੀ ਪਰਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ, ਲੰਡਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਲਾਰਡ ਲੈਫਟੀਨੈਂਟ, ਗਰੇਟਰ ਲੰਡਨ, ਸਰ ਕੇਨ ਓਲੀਸਾ ਓਬੀਈ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਭੇਜੇ ਗਏ ਫੇਥ ਐਂਡ ਬੇਲਿਫ ਫੋਰਮ ਕਮਿਉਨਟੀ ਐਵਾਰਡਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ‘ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾਦਾਇਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਗਤ’ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਮਿਲਿਆ।
  • ਸਾਲ 2019 ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਆਨਰਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ, ਇੱਕ ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ ਟਰੱਸਟੀ ਪਰਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਚੈਰਿਟੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਐਮ.ਬੀ.ਈ. [31]
  • ਜੁਲਾਈ 2019 ਵਿੱਚ, ਸਿਟੀ ਸਿੱਖਸ ਨੂੰ "ਕਮਿਉਨਟੀ ਇਨੀਸ਼ੀਏਟਿਵ ਆਫ ਦਿ ਯੀਅਰ" ਅਵਾਰਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ[32] ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿ-ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ, ਪਰਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਐਮ ਬੀ ਈ, ਨੂੰ 7 ਵੇਂ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਇੰਡੀਅਨ ਅਵਾਰਡਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਨ ਆਫ ਦਿ ਈਅਰ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ।[33]
  • ਸਤੰਬਰ 2019 ਵਿੱਚ, ਓਨਕਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਐਮਬੀਈ, ਇੱਕ ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ ਮੈਂਬਰ, ਨੂੰ ਰਾਇਲ ਏਅਰ ਫੋਰਸ ਦੇ ਏਅਰ ਚੀਫ ਮਾਰਸ਼ਲ ਮਾਈਕਲ ਵਿੱਗਸਟਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਗ੍ਰੋਸਵੇਨਰ ਹਾਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ 19 ਵੇਂ ਏਸ਼ੀਅਨ ਅਚੀਵਰਜ਼ ਅਵਾਰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਮਿਉਨਟੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਵੱਕਾਰੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਅਨ ਅਚੀਵਰਜ਼ ਅਵਾਰਡ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।[34]
